Thanksgiving was great. We at a lot and watched a lot of movies. Yay.
Now, I'm on to finding the perfect gifts for everyone. A task that I seem to battle every year at this time. Ahhh!

I saw the Harry Potter movie on Friday night. It was good. The casting was great. It was fun and it was fairly loyal to the book. They definitely did a good job. On Saturday, Jessica and I went to see "Life As a House" with Kevin Kline. That was a spectacular movie. Loved it. We were surprised to find the theater half-full when we got there considering Harry was the reigning king for the weekend. I'm so glad that I saw both movies. :-)

Four and a half hours until I see Harry Potter. I am so happy. I remember thinking that November was so far away and now, here it is...the premiere day. Yay. Yay. Yay. Heard that there are 12 trailers tacked on to it. I'm gonna be in that seat for a good three hours. I'm so excited. I'm a dork.

One day 'til HP.
One week until Thanksgiving. That means waking up early to watch Amadeus
, then watching some of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and trying to steal some of the mashed potatoes and stuffing that my Mom will be preparing. It's always the same, but it's always different....it's hard to explain. Even though I am unemployed at the moment, I have a lot to be thankful for. So much that I could never fit it all in one day. I am thankful everyday for everything I have. Don't get me wrong - I'd really, really like a job - but I know that I am a very fortunate individual.

Got tickets for Harry Potter on Friday! Yay!

Well, believe it or not, after my post about the warm weather, it snowed last night. Nothing major, just a blanket that melted by noon, but still, November weather can be so odd. But, tomorrow is supposed to be back up in the high 60s, so we'll be back to business as usual. Today, I taught myself some more stuff about CSS and DHTML. I changed some stuff on my homepage
. I'm also still working with Photoshop, trying to self-teach myself. I'm working on my own original turkey graphic for Thanksgiving. Not the cooked kind, because I don't eat meat, but a cute little (live) guy to represent the holiday.

Wow, two weeks from tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. It seems like this year has just flown by. I have no idea what to get everyone for the holidays. Seems I come to this conclusion every year, and every year it seems to get harder. Money is definitely tight this year, but I still want to get everyone something cool. Time to have some "perfect gift" brainstorms. It's also hard to believe that it's almost Thanksgiving because the weather has been so warm. We've been hitting the 70s just about everyday. I wonder if that is an indication that the winter is going to be really cold? Who knows? Snow would make JP happy.....he'd have lots of the white stuff for snowboarding.

After messing with this page, I spent some time using Photoshop. Taught myself a bunch of stuff - it was fun.
I also took my car back to Just Brakes. They "fixed" my car a few weeks back. Well, last Thursday I was driving and my emergency brake light flashed on. It stayed on for a few seconds and then disappeared. We drove my car around this weekend and the brake light seemed to come a lot more often -- anytime we stepped on the accelerator. And then when you'd step on the regular brake, it would shut off....until you stepped on the gas pedal again. We thought it might be a sensor problem and that I might have to take it to the dealership (bleah!). So, on a whim, I decided to go back to Just Brakes to see if they could remedy my situation. Turns out, they could. It had something to do with fluid, a leak, and a copper washer. After ten minutes, my car was back to its old self. Thank Goodness! I guess that wasn't too interesting, but I am so relieved that my car doesn't have something seriously wrong with it.

Okay, I think I've made enough changes for now. My favorite addition is the photo of Murphie in the left-hand column. It's one of the funniest pictures I've ever taken of her. She has got to be one of the most photogenic Irish Setters ever.
Still tweaking stuff.
Okay, I made some minor changes to the bloggy bloggster. Nothing major, just a little clean up and re-decoration.

My computer was infected with a nasty virus the other day from a downloaded MP3. It turned all of my JPGs into VB scripts. I don't think I need to explain what a nightmare that was. Luckily, I had backed up most of my photos on CD-RWs. Lost a couple of really good pictures of my parents. It's a rare picture where they're both looking at the camera, with no red-eye and no Daddy-funny-faces. (Yes, that's where I get it from) :-) Anyway, I have exorcised the evil worm and my computer is almost back to it's normal, erratic self. And, mark my words, from here on out, after I download an MP3, before I click on it, I will make sure that it's sporting the MPEG extension. Oy vey!
Since I didn't go running today, I decided to do something domestic. I made chocolate chip cookies. That recipe on the Nestle Toll House chips sure makes an incredible amount of cookies. We have breakfast for the next few days!
I also think that it's time that I change the look of this blog. It's too boring. Time to spice it up and put my HTML, CSS and DHTML skills to the test.
I can't believe it's November.
