Four day work-weeks rock! (As do their preceding three-day holiday weekend.)

Ozzy Will Be Back and he's trying to save puppies too
. Ozzy and the family are coming back for a second season this fall.
And in other Ozzy news, he signed the PETA petition (as did several other cool celebrities *cough* Kid Rock) that asks the South Korean government to ensure that dogs and cats receive full protection from intentional cruelty and torture

Dear Mr. Sandler,
Your new movie
looks really funny and I can't wait to go see it. Thanks for being goofy.

Mmmm, frozen sugar water
Oh yeah, and Pop Ice season has officially begun in our house!
Well, this Memorial Day weekend, we planted our (patio) garden. Lots of plastic terra pots full of tomatoes, basil, parsley, cilantro and be-ute-i-ful flowers. I get so excited. Our balcony is completely lined with pots and we even had to buy little plastic tables to make room for our older perennial plants. I am hoping they all take off and grow like crazy!

1. What's the last vivid dream that you remember having?
Being in my old house in New York, but it wasn't exactly my house, you know what I mean?
2. Do you have any recurring dreams?
Yes, especially about spooky things. I also do the same things like fly or run on my hands.
3. What's the scariest nightmare you've ever had?
That my sister was dead.
4. Have you ever written your dreams down or considered it? Why or why not?
Sometimes I write a quick little note or a keyword, so I can remember what it was so that I could tell someone about it. (especially if they were in it.)
5. Have you ever had a lucid dream? What did you do in it?
I have them all the time, most of the time they're nightmares and I'm trying to open my eyes and I can't.

Saw this link

I've seen in a long while.

Time for an Overhaul
I think that my Web site
needs a re-design. That, in turn, would probably create a chain reaction that would also affect this blog. I'll probably want to re-design both once I get going. I don't know when I'll actually get around to it, considering I'm super busy at work and I'm totally pooped when I get home. It's just a thought, but I think HappyKap.com
is ready for a makeover.

Feeling kind of overwhelmed and poopy. I don't want to go running again today, but I must. The wind is going to kick my butt.
The wind did, in fact, kick my ass. Yowsa!
Haven't Said it In a Few Days
I need dogs.

I am not a religious person, but there is one "religious" theory that I tend to believe in. Karma
. It's not that I need to believe in something, it's just a good theory. It's all I have when:
- A car cuts in front of me when I have the "walk" sign
- Someone steals my grocery cart and leaves all its contents on an end-display
- Someone throws rocks at ducks
- People don't smile back
- Someone insists on forcing their views on me
- People are cruel to animals
- People are mean, snotty, and all around bad-natured.
Watch out - karma will bite you in the ass when you're not looking. [I hope.]

When we woke up on Saturday morning, we discovered that there were a bunch of baby ducks swimming around in the pond. They're so cute and they make little "peep" noises. I tried to get some good photos, but the mother was very protective and kept swimming away. So, here's the best shot I could get. (It's a tad on the fuzzy side.)

It's finally raining! Yay! I know it's not that
much, but it's something and it makes me feel a little better about our water situation here in Colorado.

Avs won! They're off to battle the Red Wings.
There's a funny bird that keeps sitting at the small pond in front of my apartment building. He's black, white, and gray and he's large. He's got a weird stringy thing hanging off the back of his head and he'll stare at the water for an hour without moving. I assume he's looking for fish. I'm not sure that there are any fish in that man-made pond. If you know what type of bird this is, please let me know. I think he's great!

I wish I had better fashion sense. Sometimes I feel so scrubby and frumpy. I hate dressing up and I hate tight clothes -- so right there I'm limiting my wardrobe. I wouldn't call myself a slob, but I certainly don't know too much about clothes. I'm a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal. It's not a bad thing to be a casual all-American girl, I was just wishing that I looked as just-ironed and happy-in-my-clothes as the J.Crew models.

I run on a trail three to four times a week. I see a lot of the same people and their dogs. There is one particular dog who just *loves* me. It's so funny. He can see me coming and he starts to shake and wiggle. And when I stop and kneel down - he goes completely nuts. I LOVE IT! This little guy is so thrilled to see me. How wonderful is it that dogs are so trusting and loving? I've learned that the dog's name is Rocky. And lately, I can feel myself getting excited whenever I see him in the distance.

I ordered a bunch of pez from a Canadian Web site
. It arrived within a week and they're great dispensers. I got sets of: Bob the Builder, ET, Pokemon and Crystal Animals. I know I'm a total dork for collecting Pez, but it's a fairly cheap habit. The sets I bought are not available in the United States, so I feel all special. (Well, not really, I kinda feel like a dork, but I'll get over it.)

I was in the park the other day and this cute little guy struck a pose for me.

Watched the last episode of The Osbournes on MTV. It sucks that it's over...but I'm glad they're coming back for a second season. Yay. That show just makes me laugh.

Boo, Mom is gone
Mom had to head home. I'm sad. We had a nice visit. We didn't do too much, but just being together is enough. I really, really wish that Mom and Dad lived closer. I say it all the time, but that's only because I REALLY mean it. I miss them so much when we're apart. It would be so nice to just see each other all the time and not have to get on a plane to do it. Poopies. I will see them soon, but you can't blame a girl for getting bummed.

Yay, Mom is here.
Mom is here visiting us in Colorado. Yay! Yay! Yay!

My blog is one year old
today. I can't believe I've been doing this for a year. Granted, I go through ebbs and flows, but I've been pretty diligent. Yay!

Yesterday most Internet radio stations went silent. It was an effort to protest the outrageous fees and extensive reporting that the government wants to impose on Internet radio. I, personally, feel that Internet radio should remain free or at the very least, low fee. It has not gained enough popularity to warrant the fees that record companies want to charge these small, fledgling radio stations. I say, give it more time and until it becomes more popular - leave it free. You can read all about it at Save Internet Radio
. I have to say, that I missed the feed from WICB
yesterday. It's fun to listen to your former college's radio station, even though you haven't been there in over 6 years and you're halfway across the country. Glad it's back today.

And I Start To Complain When There's No Rain
Colorado desperately needs rain. The weather people keep predicting that it will rain on this day or that, but then it never precipitates [pun intended]. Today is cloudy. I mean, so cloudy you can't even tell that there are mountains to our west. But, the clouds are just hanging out. They're not dropping their desperately needed raindrops on the dry-as-a-bone state of Colorado. Why won't it just rain? I don't want Denver to get all Grapes of Wrath
