Like New
I got my car back and it looks fantastic. It almost looks like it's brand new. Yay! I'm so glad that I finally took it in to get fixed.

A Telephone Solicitor Pays Off
A couple of months ago a telemarketer asked if I'd be interested in taking a survey about TV. Being a TV fanatic, I said, "Sure." So I answered a few questions about watching "Alias" (yes I watch it, yes I like it) and "The X Files" (no I have never watched it). After answering a bunch of questions, they asked if I'd be interested in being part of a sneak preview of a new television show and I said, "Of course!" So, they said they'd call back. At the end of last week they asked if I could watch a commercial-free program on Wednesday. I agreed and had no idea what I was going to see. Since they asked me questions about "Alias" and "X Files," I assumed that it would be some kind of Sci-Fi/Action show. To my utter delight, when I switched to the assigned channel where they were piping in the preview, I was greeted with the season premiere episode of "Alias." Yeah! I got to see the show before everyone else and it was commercial free. (By the way, the episode was great.) About half an hour after the preview ended, they called and asked me a ton of questions about the show. So, if anyone ever calls your home asking about TV shows, do it! Alias rocks!

Fixey Fixed
I'm getting my car fixed. Dings, dents, other people's inconsiderate door-opening marks and my squeaky brakes to boot. Yay!

1. Would you say that you're good at keeping in touch with people?
Yes. I try to keep up.

2. Which communication method do you usually prefer/use: e-mail, telephone, snail mail, blog comments, or meeting in person? Why?
When I was younger, I had a million pen-pals. As I've grown older, we all tend to use e-mail to keep in touch, with the occasional snail-mail card or letter.

3. Do you have an instant messenger program? How many? Why/why not? How often do you use it?
Yes, I have AOL and MSN. I use MSN at work every day and AOL rarely. It's so nice to just ask a quick question and not have to worry about slow e-mail delivery.

4. Do most of your close friends live nearby or far away?
They're scattered everywhere. But a lot are far away.

5. Are you an "out of sight, out of mind" person, or do you believe that "distance makes the heart grow fonder"?
I am definitely a "distance makes the heart grow fonder" type.

1. What was/is your favorite subject in school? Why?
Math and English. Because I was good at both.

Mr. Sabolis. 9th grade English. I don't know if he was my favorite, but my most influencial. I learned probably 60% of everything I needed to know from the man.

3. What is your favorite memory of school?
Graduating. I couldn't wait for high school to end.

4. What was your favorite recess game?

5. What did you hate most about school?

East Coast Tour
I'm back in the West after spending 5 days on the east coast. We were in Connecticut, Long Island, New York City and Massachusetts. In New York, I was able to take a ride on the Port Jefferson Ferry, take a half-day trip into the city and spend a couple of hours on Jones Beach. It was awesome. I hadn't been "home" in five years and it felt so nice. I was able to see everyone, but the time went too fast. After our two-day stay in NY, we headed up to Massachusetts for Brian's wedding. (Brian is Jon-Paul's best friend from high school.) Massachusetts was beautiful. The wedding was fun and I got to see Jon-Paul's family - Yay. I need to get back east again sometime soon.

Oh and in other news, the car dealership replaced my blower motor so it's working again. Yay!

Happy Anniversary to My Car and Me
I have had my car for three years today. Glad I extended my warranty, because my fan completely stopped working yesterday. How ironic is it that it happened the day before my original warranty would have expired?
