The Daily Poop Update
At lunchtime there was no poop - and miracle of miracles- no pee. I think she was just too tired. She was very sleepy at lunch and didn't feel much like playing. She ate a bit, but not enough. I don't want a skinny puppy. I expect to come home to a pile of poop. Hopefully in one place, not all over the crate.

Lucy's Doodies
We're starting to use different techniques that we have been reading about to train our little Lucy. She continues to poop in her crate. Last night we kept her up from 7-10:30 so she slept through most of the night. She didn't do anything bad overnight. And this morning when I took her outside when she woke up, she even made her first outside doody. Yay! It was small, but it was a start.

Unfortunately, when I visited her at lunchtime, there was some new doody waiting for me. And somehow she got lots of little crusty bits to fall on the outside of the crate - on every side. Poor Lucy, she just doesn't get it. We'll work on that this weekend. She definitely has a lot of anxiety with being left in the crate, but I think she'll accept it and get better at it. I want puppy to get housetrained so tha she can sleep on the bed with us.

God, I love her to death.

Puppy Report
Lucy was a bad puppy last night. She barked and barked when we put her in her crate for the night. I guess in her anger, she made a large poop. Somehow she flung it and it got all in the bars of the crate as well as on the wall. She was like a monkey at the zoo. There wasn't *that* much poo flung, but that it happened at all is kind of funny. She barked, howled and yipped forever. She sounded like a hound at many points. Like the dogs (the Bumpus hounds) in "A Christmas Story." Poor little LuLu needs to adjust. We on the other hand, had to clean up poop at 1am and got about 3 and a half hours of sleep.

Separation Anxiety
Okay, today is the first day that we have left Lucy (see below) for longer than two hours. I'm sure there will be a pile of poop waiting for me. Poor little LuLu. I can't wait to go home and see her at lunchtime.

We did it
Yesterday, we rescued a puppy from LifeLine Puppy Rescue. We named her Lucy. (LuLu for short) Click here for some photos. She's a mixed breed, but we're guessing she's a lot Rottweiler.

This *might* finally be it
This might finally be the weekend that we break down and adopt a puppy or two. We don't have any preference - just that they're lovable, and all dogs are! It will change our day-to-day life, but I am pretty sure we're ready. I love puppies. I would adopt all the puppies in Colorado if I could.

Went to the dentist. It's so nice when it's done and out of the way. I don't officially go back until December. It's pretty scary how fast the six months goes, though. I might go back in before then to try teeth whitening. I'm not going to make them day-glo or anything, but I'm thinking it might be nice to whiten them up a bit. All those years of braces made them not-so-white. Who knows, maybe I won't actually do it. But I'm seriously considering it.

1. What drinking water do you prefer -- tap, bottle, purifier, etc.?
I like bottled water. And it doesn't have to be from a spring. My favorites are Eldorado and Aquafina.

2. What are your favourite flavor of chips?
Cheese Doodles. They're made by Wise brands and you can't get them here in Colorado.

3. Of all the things you can cook, what dish do you like the most?
Probably baked ziti.

4. How do you have your eggs?
I don't like eggs. But I like them in cakes. :-)

5. Who was the last person who cooked you a meal? How did it turn out?
No one really cooks for me, I kind of mooch off of JP. He made a pizza last night. It was good.

Saw the Matrix Reloaded last night

We saw it last night. It was good. It was not as good as the first one...but what sequel ever is? Yes, it had the cliffhanger ending and we're going to have to wait all the way until November to see it's conclusion. Bummer. Some of the fight scenes could have been slimmed down, but overall the story maintained my interest. (Considering that it was a 10 p.m. showing and usually by then I'm in sleepytime-ville.) I do need to see it again. It always makes our brains hurt trying to figure out exactly what happened and trying to make sense of it all.

I Hate to Admit it, but..
I have a little bit of yuppy in my blood. And I guess JP does too. We broke down and bought ourselves a quilt from Pottery Barn. It was so pretty and we really wanted it.

We both realized that neither of us has ever bought anything from Pottery Barn for ourselves. We've given gifts from there, but we have never self-indulged. It was slightly overpriced, but we like it a lot. How can one person be part hippie, part white trash and part yuppy all at once?

1. Would you consider yourself an organized person? Why or why not?
Yes, I like to keep things in order. Occasionally, I accumulate a pile of stuff to be filed, but I would definitely consider myself organized.

2. Do you keep some type of planner, organizer, calendar, etc. with you, and do you use it regularly?
Usually, I do not have an organizer. This Christmas, I received one as a gift. I forget that I have it most of the time, but I do like it.

3. Would you say that your desk is organized right now?
Yes, definitely.

4. Do you alphabetize CDs, books, and DVDs, or does it not matter?

5. What's the hardest thing you've ever had to organize?
On a business level, it was organizing all the information at my first job out of college. I moved a paper filing system to an electronic one. We had thousands of files.

On a personal level, it was over 600 CDs.

No Hope for a Lawn

I knew we probably weren't getting a front lawn this summer, but there was a small hope in my heart that we might. But, we found out that we can only water once a week, as opposed to the notice we received last week saying that we could water twice a week. I've got deep ravines running through my front yard from rainwater runoff. I think that all the dirt in my yard will be gone by the time I'm allowed to have a yard. Poopy poopy doody.

Bought some awesome gumballs, today. I know, I know, I'm totally lame. I must have chewed about 100 gumballs. I felt all sugar-icky.
