1. Are you going to school this year?
2. If yes, where are you going (high school, college, etc.)? If no, when did you graduate?
I graduated from both high school and college in the 90s.
3. What are/were your favorite school subjects?
English, Math, Russian, Biology.
4. What are/were your least favorite school subjects?
5. Have you ever had a favorite teacher? Why was he/she a favorite?
I've had many teachers that I've loved. The one that I learned the most from, scared the crap out of me. His name was Mr. Sabolis and so much of what I learned in that class I still use to this day. I also loved my Russian professor in college - she was amazing.
Well, we chose a landscaper last night and it looks like they're going to get started next week. Yay! Hopefully we'll have a patio in our backyard by the time everyone comes for the Beer Festival.

And Dad's home from Korea, yay!
Weeds Be Gone!
So, we're meeting with a landscaper today who will probably be the one that we go with. They're going to beautify our backyard and make all the weeds go away. Thank goodness. I think Lucy will be happy too because she loves grass. (and she hates it when we stop her on her way in the house so that we can clean her feet.)

Mrs. Giggles has made me a sleepy girl
Lucy (AKA Mrs. Giggles) would not fall asleep last night. It made me very cranky. She would not lie down and go to sleep and I don't trust her enough to let her just play around the house because odds are that I will wake up to a piddle spot or two because she has not learned the fine art of barking when she *needs* to go out. She knows to bark when she *wants* to go out, put her small puppy brain has not put 2 and 2 together. She kept playing and running around until about 2am. So, today I am very sleepy. I had no help because Jon-Paul is out of town and Jessica went to stay downtown in a free hotel room or something. Figures.

So much has changed
As I was driving to work today, I was thinking about how crazy this year has been. So much has happened and it seems like it has been one change after another. Some were self-inflicted, others were just grist for the mill. It's insane how different my life is from last year at this time.

Very Productive Weekend
Overall, we had a very productive weekend. We steam cleaned the entire house. Looking at my beautiful clean carpets makes me feel so happy, that I can't even put it into words. We put rocks down in the front of our house. We chose red lava rocks. They look nice. They add color to the bland look of our house. (We didn't choose the exterior colors of our house, because we bought it while it was being built.) We even went out and checked on the progress of Jessica's house. It's coming a long nicely. There are a few things that need fixing, but what new house doesn't? Her cabinets were in and they looked beautiful. I would love to have her cabinets.

1. How much time do you spend online each day?
Probably somewhere between 8 to 10 hours. (My job is in Web development.)
2. What is your browser homepage set to?
My Web site
3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s)?
Yes, I use MSN Messenger.
4. Where was your first webpage located?
I'm not really sure what this question means. I got my first Web site when I was working for a company that made shopping carts. It was one of our "benefits." So, it still had the same domain name....it's just hosted somewhere different (and better) now.
5. How long have you had your current website?
I've had it since 2000.

Poor Dad has to go to Korea tomorrow for at least two weeks, possibly more. I feel really bad because he doesn't want to go and I really don't want him to go. I'm scared for him. Hopefully it will go by quickly and maybe he'll actually enjoy himself a little bit. I told him not to eat any dog meat. I hope he has a safe and fast trip.

Need to start on landscaping, need a new home computer, keeping the sod alive
These are the things on my mind.

Well, Lucy is home and doing well. We're trying to keep her calm and keep her from jumping...but it's really hard. We bought a lawnmower this weekend and JP acutally mowed our front lawn yesterday. It is looking much better, but we might have to replace some of it down the road - but not as much as I had originally thought. I swung past Jessica's house yesterday and it is really looking good. It is unbelievable that she'll probably be living in that house a little over a month from now. We had one landscaper guy come out and take a look at our backyard. We have to get started on it very soon. I wonder if we'll just end up doing a lot of it ourselves? I just don't know how to do a lot and how to maintain the grade and all that technical landscapy stuff.

1. What's the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?
2. What's the most bizarre/unusual thing that's ever happened to you while traveling?
Too many to name.
3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
Probably Hawaii, or Scotland, or Greece, or Italy.
4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?
I don't mind any of them. I just dread the whole process of flying these days, though.
5. What's the next place on your list to visit?
I have no idea. JP and I haven't had a vacation in over 3 years. We need to go somewhere soon. Probably Hawaii or Mexico or something.

Some kind of allergic reaction
Lucy got stung or bit by something tonight right below her nose. She was sniffing the grass in the front yard and then her lips started swell up. We went to the emergency vet clinic and they gave her some antihistimine (sp?) and some steroids. Poor ding dong. For a good 20 minutes there her lips kept getting bigger and more swollen. They have since gone almost back to normal. And now the poor dear has to have an operation tomorrow. I just feel so bad for her.
I wish you could explain things to a puppy
I am very for spaying/neutering animals. But, I feel bad that tomorrow, Lucy is going to be so scared and clueless when we bring her to the vet. We are having her spayed tomorrow. She has no idea what's coming and we have to leave her there overnight. Poor little puppy. I hope it all goes well and that Jon-Paul and I can make it through a day without our precious little puppy.

Yay for Jessica
Jessica received an e-mail informing her that she is 30 days out from her closing. How exciting and scary for her. In just a touch over a month, we will both be homeowners. How cool is that? YAY FOR JESSICA!

Poor little Lucy now has pink eye. We took her to the vet on Saturday and they confirmed my pink eye suspicion. Her tail has also split open again. (We took the bandage off just a little too soon...it was healed, just the skin hadn't become thick enough.) The vet also confirmed that she has indeed lost all of her puppy teeth. And, we set up an appointment to have her spayed on Thursday. She goes from one medical problem to the next. :-) Not that getting spayed is a problem, just another annoying procedure for our happy, happy puppy.
I can't believe it's August already. Pretty soon it's going to be September. It's practically fall! Holy Cow!
