Friday Five [courtesy of fridayfive.org]

You have just won one million dollars:

1. Who do you call first?
Jon-Paul, Jessica, and my parents.

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
I'd pay off my student loans and my house.

3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
I'd pay off Jon-Paul's car (and his house, since half of it is his anyway), Jessica's house and student loans, and Mom and Dad's house.

4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
I donate to charities in everyday life, my donations would probably just be more generous. Mostly to animal shelters and Veterans.

5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
I would definitely invest. I'd ask my smart investment family and friends what I should invest in.

I'll eat your carbs

All this low-carb, no-carb crap is driving me crazy. The large majority of my diet is carbs and I love them. I LOVE CARBS. There, I said it. Now, you go eat your lettuce-wrapped hamburger and I'll have my baked potato and loaf of bread. Yay, refined sugars. Woo hoo.

Things that I did this weekend

Went out with Deann, with the simple intent of getting some dinner. Dinner turned into drinks, which then turned into dancing the night away.

Had an emergency dentist appointment on Saturday morning. Thank you to the wonderful woman who met me there to help me out!

Met up with Jessica so she could see Lucy the Wonderdog.

"Girls Night Out" at Cool River on Saturday. That was fun!

On Sunday, I attended the first Bridal Shower that I've ever been invited to.

Took Lucy to Doggie Training class.

Went to dinner in a crazy snowstorm with some good friends.

E for Effort

Lucy did really well in doggie training class today. She was chosen to demonstrate a new skill and she actually did great. Yay for Lulu. :-)

New Computer

Got a new computer here at home and it is very cool. It's nice to not have to wait 10 minutes (literally!) for my computer to boot up.

- All quotes are from the movie BASEketBall

Nice Photos

I have tried a bunch of online photo developing places, and I think my favorite is Photoworks.com. They are fast and the pictures come out really nice. For example, I ordered photos last night around 5pm and they had already shipped out to me this morning. Awesome! I never got service like that from any of the other places.

It's Fun...

See, here is a prime example of why I like Mr. JT. The music is happy and makes ya wanna dance, but it also has fun lyrics like:

See I've been watching you
I like the way you move
So go ahead, girl, just do
That ass shaking thing you do

Shouldn't Admit This

I still haven't stopped listening to Justin Timberlake when I'm in my car. Admittedly, I really only like the faster songs, but it's all I want to listen to lately when I'm driving. I'm sure another CD will take over soon. I mean, the two weeks before that, it was The Darkness.

Some Random Thoughts for Tuesday Evening

I should really be in bed.

I love candles.

Today was my day to be picked on by some of my friends.

I really wish that "The State" was still on TV. It was a great show.

I need to pick up that package that has been sitting at the Post Office for 2 weeks now. I tried to get them to deliver it again, but they say that it requires a signature.

I wish Pepsi was as good for you as water.

I have changed a lot, and then again, not so much.

Random Thoughts for Monday

HAPPY 31st ANNIVERSARY, Mom and Dad!!!!

Lucy is the class clown in doggy training class. She jumps, she barks without making noise, and she can projectile-choke any treat about 5 feet away.

Alias keeps getting better and better.

There's nothing better than getting a shirt for $4.98 that was originally $39. (C'mon, would someone really pay $39 for it anyway) Okay...maybe a pair of cool shoes for $4.98 would be better.

Life would be wonderful if cheese had no calories and no fat.

Through the jungle and out through the biscuits.

Why do I keep listening to the Justin Timberlake CD over and over? I'm 30 years old - I'm not supposed to like it.

And how can someone listen to that and then want to switch to Audioslave? Ecclectic music taste indeed.

Friday Five [courtesy of fridayfive.org]

1. What does it say in the signature line of your emails?
I don't have a signature.

2. Did you have a senior quote in your high school yearbook? What was it? If you haven't graduated yet, what would you like your quote to be?
We did not have quotes in our high school yearbook.

3. If you had vanity plates on your car, what would they read? If you already have them, what do they say?
Since I always write my name, it'd probably be HEATHER or HAPPYKAP.

4. Have you received any gifts with messages engraved upon them? What did the inscription say?
For Christmas, my Uncle gave me a beautiful box from Tash Kent and had my name painted on it. But, I've never received a gift with a message engraved on it.

5. What would you like your epitaph to be?
She mattered.

Thank you to those who make me happy

You know when you're having a bad day and someone is just so nice to you that your day completely takes a swing in a better direction? That has happened to me a lot lately and I'd like to thank these very special people. They might not even be good friends (although some are), but I've had total strangers make my day too.

Then, there's those good friends who make your day even when you're already having a good one, just for being who they are.

Happy New Year 2004

Hope everyone had a fun holiday. Lucy puppy and I spent New Year's together. We watched Conan and ate popcorn. We were regular party animals. (Granted one of the animals had a killer cold.) May you stick to all your resolutions.
