It seems to be that time of year again. The kamikaze birds are back at the intersections. They freak me out because I am so afraid that I'm going to hit one. They kind of hover over the intersection and then swoop down at inopportune times for those of us in our cars. I'm guessing that they're looking for road kill, but who knows, maybe they're just thrill-seekers. :-)
Yesterday, JP sent me two dozen multi-colored roses here at work. They were so pretty and there was no reason....he's the coolest.

A Little Protective
For the first time ever, Lucy showed a bit of courage and a bit of protectiveness. Tonight when JP was coming around back after dusk, Lucy let out one of her big dog barks at him. She then realized it was him, but it was the first time she has ever been protective of anyone coming into the backyard.

One of the best things that has happened to me in the past year has been my move to IT. It has been an incredible growth experience and has truly made me a happier worker bee.

Some More Proof of my Dorkyness
Gilad won the "Trainer for a Day" contest on FitTV. That means that all day, this Saturday, they're going to play "Bodies In Motion" shows. I love them!! Thirteen hours straight
. I'm going to try to tape as much of the marathon as I can. They're my favorite exercise show. If you have the time (and the channel), you should check one of his shows out, I promise you'll feel great. :-)
I had NO IDEA that Jimmy Fallon was leaving Saturday night live after this season. I don't think it was really publicized and I'm really sad that he's done with the show. Boo.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JON-PAUL!
Welcome to the land of your 30s!!! Hee hee.
Paint, Concert, and a Lost Voice
I finally finished the computer room. It is beautifully red. (Okay, since it was my first attempt at painting a room, there are some jagged edges and there will be some touching-up.) I am so glad that it is done.
On Saturday night I saw Puddle of Mudd and Kid Rock. Both were awesome!! I was really impressed by how great Puddle of Mudd sounded and as always, Kid Rock was just incredible. We had really good seats and the weather was nice. The only part that sucked for me was that I couldn't sing and scream because I had almost completely lost my voice. Still, it didn't stop me from singing.
Which made my voice even worse. I had almost no voice at all after the concert. You can't not sing along. Well, I can't anyway. On Sunday when I woke up, my voice was really bad. And throughout the day of yardwork and cleaning, I noticed something. I sing A LOT. And I make a lot of noises. How do I know? Because when I attempted to do either, I was met with missing pieces (octaves?) of my voice. It was really funny. I'd get some stupid tune in my head or want to sing along with something and it just wouldn't go. It happened all day and was really annoying. I also noticed that I talk to Lucy in a higher voice, that just didn't work at all with my loss of voice. I also found myself trying to make noises that I never really realized that I made. Jessica always told me I made a lot of noise, and until yesterday I don't think I quite realized how many. Ha! I don't know how the ladies with raspy voices go through life like this. I WANT MY VOICE BACK!!!
I also got my pitchfork out so that I could plant the wildflower seeds around the trees. Yay! I'm such a hippie.

Yay and Boo
YAY! Today is the Kid Rock concert.
BOO! I'm sick and I'm losing my voice. (Now everyone around me won't be able to enjoy my lovely singing voice.)

Just when you think it's safe...
And you think that your cute little adorable puppy has outgrown her destruction phase...WHAM...she chews up the back of the loveseat. The front cushion still hasn't been fixed, so hopefully when we do take it in, they can fix everything. Maybe it would even be cheaper to buy a whole new loveseat. She must get really bored and think, "Wow, I think I'll chew on that."
It's raining today - good for the lawn.
I have a sore throat. I *HATE* being sick, so I'm hoping to just keep it as a sore throat and not let it creep anywhere else.

Photos are Ready
I know I've been slacking in the photo realm of my Web site. So, I got these up as fast as I could. Spent Mother's Day weekend down in Texas with Mom and Dad. Yay! Have a look.
And I'm back from my weekend trip to Texas. It was GREAT to see Mom and Dad. I had lots of fun. Pictures coming very soon. :-)
Four days 'til I see him in concert. And Puddle of Mudd! Yay!

Good but Bad
Lucy has been good in the no poo-poo, pee-pee in the house department this week. Four days in a row without incident. Good doggy. *But* last night we noticed that she had chewed apart the wire to the living room lamp and a couple of speaker wires. Bad doggy. (But she's still so cute that I love her so much anyway.)
I head off to Texas in a few hours. I can't wait to see Mom and Dad. I hope that it's nice enough that I can go swimming. I didn't swim even once last year! I already printed out my boarding pass...I'm ready to go.

Happy Birthday Aunt Carin
Today is Aunt Carin's birthday, as well as my friend Dave. I tried to give him a call and he's in England. Ooops. :-) How was I supposed to know? I'm also excited that I get to see my parents this weekend. I haven't seen them since Christmas. That's a very long time for me. Probably the longest I've gone without seeing them. I'll get to see Angus as a grown-up doggie. Last time I saw him, he was an itty bitty puppy. This morning when I was leaving for work and I was patting Lucy goodbye, I realized that I'm really going to miss her this weekend. I love seeing her cute little face...it's weird that I won't see her for *three whole days*. I'm such a softy. We visited DBush and Mike at lunch and she seems to be doing really well after her knee surgery yesterday. She was hobbling around like a pro on her cruches. Amy was there with Emma which was a really cool surprise.
I did end up playing tennis yesterday afternoon and it was fun. Tiring, but fun. I laughed a lot at how out-of-whack my swing was and how I was hitting it so poorly that JP was running around the court like crazy. At one point I was laughing so hard I couldn't even play. I thought it was weird that there are like 10 courts and we were the only people out there playing. I guess it was good, though, because I constantly hit the ball into some of the other courts...if there were people playing on them, I don't think they'd find it as humorous as I did.

Cinco Things for Cinco de Mayo
- We're going to maybe try to play tennis tonight. If not tonight, sometime in the next week or so.
- There was an e-fare to Texas this weekend, so I bought it. I'm going to see Mom for Mother's Day weekend. Yay!
- The weather is outrageoulsy beautiful today!
- I've been consistenly trying to do something physcial every night, even if it's only for a half hour instead of parking it on the couch.
- "The Todd" always makes me laugh on Scrubs.

Lucy is the Cutest
I took Lucy for a walk today after I got home from work. I think we walked about two miles and I really pooped her out. She is so loving and so friendly to any person or dog that she sees.
