We're going camping for Fourth of July weekend. Yay! I haven't been camping in at least eight years. How scary is that? And technically, it was easy-breezy camping, as there was always a shower and toilet facility within 200 feet...and we were on the beach. This is going to be semi-hardcore camping complete with lack of toilet and shower. I'm interested to see how I do. We're going to bring a little portable shower thingy, because I know if I had to go more than a day and a half without washing my hair, we could use the accumulated oil to fry us up some morning hashbrowns.
I attended our company meeting on Thursday and Friday. It was okay. I didn't have as much fun as I was expecting. A lot of the presentations weren't applicable to everyone and I found it hard to focus at times. I did have fun with my friends, though. :-)
JP and I attended Kirsten's graduation party on Saturday. It was fun and it was great to finally see Kirsten and Karie.
Latest devlopment in the path of Lucy's destruction: her doggie bed. The crazy dog de-stuffed her dog bed. I got home from Keystone on Friday afternoon and there was mint green stuffing all over the living room and dining room. I have no idea what possesses this dog to chew the crap out of everything.
And yesterday afternoon we bought some cool plants to plant in the front of our house. I also got a Lilac bush....don't know if that will go in the front or the backyard.

What I'm Doing
The Five People You Meet in Heaven
by Mitch Albom (recommended by a friend -- it's not a religious book...believe me, I wouldn't be reading it if it was)
by the Black Eyed Peas (it's a fun CD, and I'm specifically addicted to the "Smells Like Funk" song)
My Annual Performance Review. It feels like I just wrote my Mid-Year. Microsoft sure likes to keep us on track. :-)
(as always), Tae Bo, Denise Austin, Yoga Time, Yoga Zone, Crunch, Tamilee Webb
The annual company meeting tomorrow in the mountains. I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
Everyone in my family throughout the country.
In Search of:
A cool surfer-girlish sweatshirt.
Jeans...always looking for jeans that fit.
Too many things at once

I finished the fifth Harry Potter book. I know, I know, it's about friggin' time. It was good. I spent a few hours yesterday morning reading and it really made the day fly by. Before I knew it, it was 5pm. Let's see, how about a weekend re-cap.
On Friday I went with Deann to her sister's baby shower. It went on way longer than we expected it to. The cake that Deann brought was awesome and we got it at Sam's Club! ha.
On Saturday we took a ride down to the Castle Rock outlets. We bought nothing. Yay for us. We stopped at PetSmart to get Lucy some food and let her sniff some other pups in the store. And the Naturally Organic store right next to PetSmart took my advice and has started stocking those Stacy's Pita Chips
that I'm absolutely addicted to (specifically the "Simply Naked" kind). Yay! They even had my vegetarian bologna. I'm so easy to please. :-) Then, we met up with Deann and Jason at The Rock for a few drinks.
Sunday, well, obviously I read Harry Potter. Then we headed to Target to buy some camping gear for our Fourth of July camping trip. We now have a tent and lanterns. Still need sleeping bags. I haven't been camping in sooooo long. And even then, it was on the beach and we had shower and bathroom facilities. This will be a little bit more hardcore of a camping trip...as we won't have those comforts. I'm curious to see how I do. (And to see just how greasy my hair can get.)
On a truly positive note, it rained a lot of the weekend and it's really helping to green everything up in this drought-laden state.

Halfway Through the Year (How'd that Happen so Fast???)
Finally got a new cell phone. We've had the same phones for two years and we were eligible for new phones on June 10, so we took advantage of it. So far I'm pretty clueless as to how to even use the phone but I do know how to take pictures with it. Whoo-hoo. As if I don't already take enough of my little puppy dog. I've only had it for a day, but I think I like it. There is one thing I don't like, and that's any of the rings. They kinda suck.
On another positive note, it rained all day today. The lawn totally needed it - oh yeah and the state of Colorado because of that whole drought thing. (ha ha)
I'm still keeping up with working out. I think this is the longest that I've gone without dreading working out. I actually look forward to it on an almost-daily basis. It's pretty cool to be this motivated. I guess all it took was a lot of variety. For so long, all I did was run. Now, I am incorporating all types of workouts. I'm still totally into the yoga.
I'm now a little more than halfway through the 5th Harry Potter. I know, I know, it's about time I got down to reading it. What really bums me out about reading the Harry Potter books is that I never want them to end. I'm very excited to know what happens, but then I'm almost sad when I finish the book. That I'm even making time to read is a very, very good thing.
I feel as though I've made some very positive changes in my life these past few months. Six months ago, I was in a not-so-happy place and I'm pretty proud of the fact that I pulled myself out of the funk and glad that I'm aware of the signs if I ever find myself slipping back in. I had no reason to be depressed because I am very thankful for everything I have. But, I guess sometimes you just can't help it. It's amazing the things that can happen to change something in an instant.

Things I did this weekend
- Ate a lot of chocolate
- Cleaned the so-needed-it inside of my car
- Went to a fun BBQ
- Bought an American flag bikini for Fourth of July
- Took Lucy to the dog park, where she proceeded to knock me down. I have a scraped up knee and "old lady" bruises on my arm. Why are they described that way? Well, because they're odd colors and look like the bruises that old ladies get. I give credit to Deann for the term.
- Tanned my hide
Happy Flag Day!

*Another* post about Lucy
After work today we headed over to the lake. It was a bit windy, but it was fun. After a while, Jon-Paul showed up with Lucy. Turns out, she's a water dog! She was a little tentative at first, but eventually she was bounding around in the water. It was very cute. Yay! I have a water-loving puppy.

I Love Summer
Yesterday was 100!! It was awesome...this dry heat is just so soothing. I'm freezing cold inside at work because they crank the air conditioning so high and then when I walk outside it's like someone wrapped a nice warm blanket around me. I love it.
We went to Cherry Creek Lake on Sunday and hung out for a few hours. I mostly caught some rays while the rest took turns on the jet-skis. It was fun. It seems like we're going to go out there a lot more than we did last summer.
Deann and I went to Country Buffet today for lunch. It was my first time. I stuck to the salad bar. And it was just like the South Park....lots of older folks.

Pictures from the Reception
I finally got the photos up from Deann and Jason's reception
. It's been under a week - so I'm a little better than usual.

Jon-Paul and I attended a pre-screening of the new Harry Potter film last night. I thought it was great - but I'm biased because the third book was my favorite. I like the way that the new director made this film. It seemed cleaner and more the way that I pictured things when I read the books. (Like the kids in regular clothes and such.) It stayed pretty loyal to the book and was pretty close the the mental pictures that I had in my head. How did I get these tickets? Well, I check a freebie site
daily and I signed up a few weeks back and the tickets showed up in the mail last week. Free stuff on the internet rocks!

Kid Rock twice in one summer
Just bought my ticket for the Coors Light
Mountain Jam with Kid Rock. I am so excited that I get to see him again. Whoo-hoo. :-)
