More about the rocks

Okay, so the remainder of the rocks are sitting out in front of our house. They have been there for a little over two weeks. There aren't too many left and several of our neighbors have left their piles for over a month. For some reason, some jerk decided to drive through it last night. When I pulled out of the garage this morning, there were tracks through the pile and the rocks had been scattered everywhere. Why? People suck.

Random Heather Thought

Would it be cool to be able to hear any conversation about yourself?  To know what everyone around you truly thinks of you? I think that even though some of it might be tough to hear, it would be really fun and interesting to have that ability.

Heard this song today

I haven't heard this song in a long time and it came on the radio today.  For some reason, I just love how he sings it.

Maybe I'm Amazed
Artist: Paul McCartney

Maybe I'm Amazed At The Way You Love Me All The Time
Maybe I'm Afraid Of The Way I Love You
Maybe I'm Amazed At The The Way You Pulled Me Out Of Time
And Hung Me On A Line
Maybe I'm Amazed At The Way I Really Need You

Maybe I'm A Man And Maybe I'm A Lonely Man
Who's In The Middle Of Something
That He Doedn't Really Understand

Maybe I'm A Man And Maybe You're The Only Woman
Who Could Ever Help Me
Baby Won't You Help Me Understand

Maybe I'm Amazed At The Way You're With Me All The Time
Maybe I'm Afraid Of The Way I Leave You
Maybe I'm Amazed At The Way You Help Me Sing My Song
Right Me When I'm Wrong
Maybe I'm Amazed At The Way I Really Need You

Tommy Need Sleepy

I'm having one of my slightly insomniatic weeks. (Is insomniatic even a word? sounds good to me...)  Anyway, I get really tired, but for some reason stay up doing a million things and then finally get to bed around 12:30 and come in and out of sleep. So, I haven't felt "up" any morning this week. Don't know what's up or why it happens.

And I've been super hungry this week. It's very annoying. I'll eat a million things and still not feel full. I'm hoping it's because I'm making muscles. :-)

A Rocky Monday

All places that need rocks have now been filled in.  It seems that we probably have about a ton of rocks left over.  We'll just thicken up the rocks in some places and maybe chuck some of the extra down to the bottom of the window wells.

On Sunday I went to Shane's 7th birthday party. It was a roller rink.  I always have fun when I get to roller skate.  And thanks to Deann's suggestion, my gift was a huge hit. It was a beach pail full of candy. All types of crazy-fun candy.  So, that, is the answer as to what to get the kid who has everything.  After the party, I went home and cleaned the entire house.  As much as I dread it, there really isn't anything more satisfying than knowing that your house is clean -- like really clean because you went nuts and even did some really intense cleaning.  While I was cleaning, JP was putting the finishing touches on the backyard - which included putting a patch of sod down where we decided not to put rocks. Lucy, of course, was very interested in said sod and would try to pick up whole pieces and run away with them.

After our chores, we headed over to the Fenstermachers for (what we thought would be) a little cocktail hour. Drink of choice?  Champagne.  Four bottles of champagne later, we decided that what we were actually having was a "champagne party."  So, we had a couple more bottles of wine and danced around the living room. On a Sunday night!!!!   Monday was a bit rough for everyone.

A Huge Pile of Rocks

We spent the day putting down rocks in the backyard.  They delivered 8 tons of rock this morning and we moved it one wheelbarrow-full at a time. It is a long and tedious process. I would guess we only moved about 5-6 tons.  We might have over-ordered, but we'll just thicken it up in spots.

Here's the post-rock moving checklist
Back pain - check
Multiple blisters -check
Super dirty - check
Super thirsty - check
Random black and blues - check
Beyond tired - check

Boo

Today was a day that I could have skipped over. Many crappy things happened. Nothing major or horrible, just lots of little things that overwhelmed me and reduced me to tears. These days are far and few between, but I figured that I'd document it anyway.

I am feeling better since working out, eating some cookies and playing with LuLu.

Beginning another book

A couple of weeks ago, Mom sent me The Da Vinci Code. She thinks that I really enjoy the book. So, I finally cracked it open last night. Granted, I only read the first chapter, but still - it's a start.

Heat Wave

It has been incredibly, awesomely (nice word, Heather) hot with a few scattered showers for the past week or so. I so love this weather. Here's a quick re-cap of my weekend: I saw "Paycheck" on Friday night over at Amy's house. Ben Affleck was dreamy as always, except for his dopey hair in that flick. On Saturday, I helped Deann paint her "other" house. It took us a long time, but it looks so much better. Then Deann and I headed over to the Chatfield campground to hang with some friends and we met JP, Jason and Amy there too. We ended up at Deann and Jason's (surprise, surprise) and as usual, I laughed my ass off. Between Jason's brother Jeremy, and Amy, my eyes were tearing up from laughing so hard. I love to laugh like that. On Sunday, I rolled out of bed and read the paper while I lied out on the back patio. It was HOT! Then we did some chores and then we took Lucy to the dog park. She had a lot of fun! She's just not a fighter though. When one of the other dogs bites at her neck or tries to hump her, I wish she'd defend herself somehow - and by defend, I don't mean cower and fall on her back. :-)

Have a Happy Weekend!

No big plans for the weekend...going to play it by ear, I guess. It was super hot yesterday and we hung out at Cherry Creek. It was so much fun. (God, I use that sentence a lot, but I guess that's a good thing.)

New photos and other stuff

The camping photos are now up on my Web site. After editing them all, I really want to camp again. My only problem with camping is how much I eat. I just snacky snacky snacky all day.

Happy Camper

Over the Fourth of July weekend I went camping in Guernsey, Wyoming. It was my first trip ever to Wyoming. It was so much fun and I can't wait to go again. I took a bunch of pictures and they should be up on my Web site sometime soon. We even took a little trip up to Lake Glendo.
