Happy New Year!
I hope everyone has a good New Year's Eve! I wish everyone a healthy and happy 2005. May there be many giggles, kick-ass times and plenty of dessert in your new year.
Too Many Puppies
I'm back in Colorado after spending Christmas in Texas. It was really really really cold when we first got there. I don't believe I'd ever seen frozen puddles in Dallas before. And, since the sprinklers were still set to go off, there were lots of cool little frozen crystal sculptures on the grass and weeds. Oddly enough, it was actually beautiful.
All the dogs got along great and I had my fill of mashed potatoes. The week went fast. I just feel like I can never spend enough time with my Mom and Dad.

Oh...I'm procrastinating...can you tell?
I'm tired and I don't feel like packing.
Have you ever heard of?
A Chevy Classic? What the heck is that? Returned to the rental car place, I can tell you that much, within an hour. Almost got a Corolla, but ended up with an Altima. I really didn't have a say....it's what cars they were willing to rent to make the long distance drive.
In case I don't get to post in the next few days, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Love and Kisses!!
Not Quite Bah Humbug
I hope everyone has happy holidays. My little trip hasn't even started yet, and it's already had a couple of small hiccups. I assume that once I am on my way and everything, I'll feel less lethargic. This stupid little cold is really dragging me down. I've been zapped of excitement and energy. It's so not like me to be sick twice in less than a month. I'm crossing my fingers that I don't lose my voice this time. I don't mean to be a Scrooge, but I'm *really* ready for it to be summer. :-)

I cannot believe that five days from now is Christmas. I feel like I've been in a crazy whirlwind. Christmas is so different to me now than it used to be. I don't know exactly when or what changed, but it just feels different. I guess that's what comes with age. I'm not negative or scrooge-ey or anything like that, I'm just not as into it as I used to be. I do love the holiday season and all the fun things that go with it, but then I get to a point where I just want it to be over. I think a lot of people feel that way though.
We had our holiday party on Saturday and it was fun. I got to use my new Olympus 7.1 MP camera! :-) I ended up wearing a black dress afterall. I tried really hard to not wear black again, but I just couldn't help it. Oh well!

What I've been up to
Wrapped and sent packages of presents.
Finished my Christmas cards.
Attempting to train Hudson a little.
Trying to find a dress for the Holiday party.
Eating way too many holiday snacks.
Baked cookies...even made gingerbread men from scratch.
Actually got a workout in this week.
My knee hurts again.
Had some eggs at breakfast and actually liked them.

A stream of random stuff-ness
I had a hole drilled in the back of my tooth yesterday
Hudson was a good boy yesterday
I ate at Rio twice this week
I haven't exercised nearly enough lately
I like warmer winter days
I could really skip winter all together this year
I'm itching for a truck again
I hope to replace the carpet within a year
I need to find a dress for the Christmas party
I am amazed by how much has and has not changed in a year
I am a lucky girl.

Five Happy Things
1. Berries in Christmas decorations
2. Finishing my Christmas cards
3. Quick turn-around time
4. Lucy and Hudson chasing each other around
5. Not needing novicaine
I am a fan of online photo printing sites, but I need to say that www.samsclub.com is awesome. They're cheap and you can get them in an hour. The quality is fantastic. So, if you're in a rush for prints or for a holiday photo greeting card, I really suggest you use them if you're a member. :-)

Yesterday when I got home there was nothing but pee for me to clean up....and, it was on the crate bottom. (We didn't put the crate out, just the crate bottom.) I'm hopeful that with each successive day we'll see an improvement. Go boy, you can do it!
And each day I like him a little bit more and each day the two of them buddy up even more.

Lucy and Hudson
Again, my life has become all about my dogs. We have had Hudson for a little over three days now and he seems to adjust a little bit more each day. We went to the vet last night and Hudson seems to be pretty healthy. We just have to help him gain some weight. I love to give them treats -- so that shouldn't be a problem. We confined him to the kitchen nook yesterday and he did poop, but I can't blame him because he has serious case of the runs. (He's on antibiotics for that now.) And, we're trying out some topical steroid treatment to see if we can help heal up those scabby yucky things on the tips of Lucy's ears. This vet had seen the condition once before in a Doberman. So, there's even more proof that LuLu is probably part Dobie. We got compliments about how cute both of them are. Hudson was even protective of Lucy at the vet's office. That endeared him to me even more. When we got home from the vet, they definitely seemed a bit more buddy-buddy than they have been. I really think that they're getting used to the fact that he's a permanent member of our family. Yay!

A Bumper Sticker I Saw in Boulder on Saturday
It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

We have decided on the name Hudson for the new dog. Ted and Dyson were the two runner-up names, but this morning, he just all of the sudden seemed like a Hudson. Want to see what he looks like? Check him out

Yup, we finally did it -- got Lucy a buddy. He seems to be Vizsla mix of some type and he's sweet as pie. They hit it off immediately at the Boulder Humane Society and we decided right there and then to adopt him. He's about a year and half old and does not seem to be housetrained. We didn't know this when we adopted him, so it should be interesting. He's very, very cute and he and Lucy get along very well. Pictures soon.

5. The Jelly Donut candles really smell like jelly donuts.

Requiem for an Olympus
I lost my camera. I left it in the rental car and even though I called them within an hour, it was never found (or so they say). So, I am sad for my loss. I *loved* that camera and I'm so bummed that I was dumb enough to lose it. But, the silver lining to this storm cloud is that I get to get a new one.
