You know when you have a phrase stuck in your head? Well, every time I see someone today, I want to call them fart knocker. Not for any particluar reason, just feel like sayin', "What up, Fart Knocker?"
Three words I really like

I Love School Supplies
I love school supplies so much, that if they were my husband and they beat me, I'd still keep going back for more, because I love them.
No, I'm not in school. Yes, I've fought the urge to buy unnecessary supplies. But it hurts. *sigh*

I Am Loved
After walking out into the sunlight, I realized, that I see life through snarf-covered sunglasses.
The artist? Him.

While on a walk today, I caught a whiff of something that reminded me of my first oral surgery. Kind of a super-strong rubbing alcohol smell. Different than typical rubbing alcohol, it was the exact smell of my last inhale before being put to sleep.
I was five years old. I had an extra tooth on the roof of my mouth. I was scared shitless. What the smell actually reminds me of is the story I was told a few years later. Apparently, mid-surgery, I yanked the needle out of my arm -- the needle that was keeping me asleep. Hee hee. They're all up in this five-year old's grill and didn't notice her little hand reaching over to the other arm to pull out the stupid needle. I guess I also tried to turn over on my side. I think it's hilarious. I wasn't comfortable - what do you want. I'm pretty sure they cranked up the juice once the needle was back in my arm. :-)

Did you ever have one of those moments where you're looking at someone and you are just overwhelmed by them? In that moment, you see their inner and outer beauty all at once and you can't take your eyes off of them? They're not aware that you're looking, and no other emotion is attached to it. It's just an all-encompassing warm feeling and no matter how the relationship continues, evolves or ends; this is the wonderful that you want to take with you.
Friday Five1. Do you really make wishes when you blow out the candles on your cake?
Sometimes.2. Have any of the wishes ever come true, if yes?
I don't know. I usually make my wish for whoever I think needs it the most at that time.3. How do you feel about birthdays? (e.g., love the attention, just another day, don't want anyone to know my real age, etc.)
I'm not big into my birthday.4. Tell us a favorite gift you've received, or something you'd really like for your next birthday.
I don't have a favorite and there's nothing I'd really like for my next one. I'm good. :-)5. What flavor cake?
Any. I love cake. (Except coconut - bleah.)
BUT okay, favorite of all time is from Benkert's (sp?) Bakery on Middle Country Road on Long Island. Centereach, I think. Yellow cake with strawberry filling. Mmmmmmm.

State of the Kap
My flip flops are loud today. Not in the flip-flop flip-flop noise sense, but the soles are really hard and are loud to walk in. I also have goofball walking issues.
I hate the stupid HOA of my neighborhood. Yes, hate is a strong word. Yes, I mean hate.
Watched about 6 episodes of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" over the past three days. It's fantastic. Slow adopter, I know....Mom's been on the bandwagon since the get-go.
I need a new phone. Mine randomly shuts itself off. Frequently.
Feeling the chubbiest I've felt in a while. Need to do something about it. Must conjure motivation. This whole not-working-out-for-months-and-months thing is not faring well for me. I love the free time it gives me though. :-)
Having a super "I love dogs" phase. I feel so excited when I see a cutie. Miss mine. Can't wait to see them on Sunday.
Was updating my calendar and noticed my one-year follow up to my surgery appointment is a little over a month away. I hope beyond hope that the tumor didn't grow back. Am feeling a bit of anxiety, as such.
New TV season starts in about a month. I'm ready. Bring it.
Even sooner, Weeds
starts next Monday. Yippee. Like
, Like a lot
, and still searching....any ideas??? or votes? I'm leaning toward the can-can one. I kinda want to be a gangster maybe.
Feel like my shoulder is going to fall off. It needs help. But as always, I'm too self-conscious to get a massage.
Can't believe Stern is in replay again this week.
Still on the cookies....and pizza....and Pepsi.
Experienced what I believe was super-crazy heartburn on Saturday. I've never ever felt that before. It totally sucks. I pity those of you who experience it daily. OUCH!
Can't believe we're over a week into August. Where hath the summer gone? :-)
Am totally into Project Runway.
Miss Mom and Dad.
Going to jinx it by saying it, but probably sleeping a tiny bit more.

The last launch marks the end of an era for Naval Aviation. The F-14 will officially retire in September 2006, after 32 years of service to the fleet. My dad worked on the F-14 program a long time ago, for many many years. I've always thought it was a pretty cool plane. I think most people did, since they were the featured planes in "Top Gun." It's kind of the end of an era. *Tear.*

Too Old To Kid, Too Soft to Rock
Just to give some kind of gauge to the crazy realm of my musical taste...I rocked out to some hard rock this morning and then popped in the Broadway recording of Anything Goes
and my inner musical-theater child sang her heart out on the way to work.
Shades of Lucy (and Hudson)
I saw this mentioned
on the news this morning. Makes the damage my dogs have done look like drops in a bucket.

What was on my desk when I got to work today:
Not sure who left it for me, and/or why.

Grandma sent me a cool green bracelet....that she made! It rocks!
Tuesday is ChoosedayWould you rather: 1. bathe in a pool of dog drool OR be sprayed down with fire hose?
Depends how long the spray-down is. I pretty much bathe in a pool of dog drool anyway, so I think I'll go with the dog drool.2. live in a house where everything is sticky OR that smells like rotting trash?
Sticky. My superhero sense of smell could not tolerate the rotting trash smell.3. sit under a tanning lamp for 12 hours OR live in a 90 degree house with no air conditioning for three weeks?
90 degree house. 4. eat 24 popsicles in a row OR stand in a restaurant walk-in freezer for an hour?
