Friday Five

1. What's the last thing you broke?
Probably a hair band or something. But the kitchen faucet is broken, but I didn't "do" it, it just happened gradually over time.

2. What's the most expensive thing you've broken?
Car crap. Or if you count Lucy eating the sock.

3. Do you consider yourself clumsy or graceful?
I think I teeter toward clumsy, but like to think I'm a delicate balance of both.

4. How much money do you have in your wallet right now?
$51. "I'm rich beeeyatch."

5. Someone asks for change while you're walking down the street -- what do you do?
Usually I don't have any, but occasionally I do give a dollar or two.

How Much is that Doggie in the Window?

Hudson has been incredibly antsy lately. He is always hyper and in need of attention, but this week, it's been amplified. His constant under-footness has frustrated me to a not-like-me degree in the past couple of days. Last night I slept like a log. (Thank you Grey Goose L'Orange!) Because I got so much sleep, I remember some of my dreams.

I had a dream that I was volunteering at a dog shelter. I guess for one reason or another, I brought Hudson with me. I was doing all kinds of work around the shelter and I was getting ready to leave and grab Hudson, when one of the workers said that I couldn't take him because he had been "held" for adoption for some little girl's birthday the next day. I was like, "Oh no, Hudson is *my* dog, he's not available for adoption." The volunteers said it was too late, that they had already promised him to the family. I FREAKED out. They were not going to take my precious puppy away from me!! I forced my eyes open, as I usually do from most nightmares and right there - in my face - was Hudson's tongue. I was never so happy to receive his slimey wake-up kiss. I cuddled with my boy a little longer than usual this morning. Lucy got in on the action too. Then it turned into dog wrestling and the love fest ended. :-)

Friday Five

1. How much TV do you watch?
Tons. Way more than your average person.

2. What type of show is your favorite?
Comedies. Well-written comedies.

3. Which talk show host do you hate?
Man, I don't know. I don't watch any - I only see the good parts of them on "The Soup." I do think that Dr. Phil is a douche.

4. Are you looking forward to any new season premieres?
Big fat shiny YES! Hoping at least a couple of new shows are good enough to stick around.

5. Which show is your guilty pleasure?
Most of them. Probably Project Runway.

"....And I Get Turned Around"

Here's just a bit too much information about me: I'm a total dorky weirdo. In probably the past decade or so I've picked up a very odd quirk. I get affirmations about the direction of my life from Billy Joel songs. I know it sounds INSANE, but hear me out. I'm from Long Island -- Billy's music is prolific there (if not the entire tri-state area.) I always get the warm fuzzies when a Billy Joel song happens to be on the radio and I would never, ever turn the station while one was playing. When I'm at a crossroads and I'm not sure of the decision I'm making, if at the moment I'm thinking about it, a BJ song comes on the radio, I know it's the right decision. Bill lets me know that my life is on track - a sort of deja vu theory. It's totally crazy, but it hasn't failed me yet. And when I'm in a total funk and I hear one of his songs, I know it's time to work my way out of it.

Today I heard three Billy Joel songs. Keep in mind that four hours of my day was spent listening to Howard Stern and at least two were spent listening to the new Justin Timberlake. So, to hear three, on three separate radio stations is just so off-the-charts for my little idiosyncrasy. I heard Scenes from an Italian Restaurant twice and She's Got a Way once. She's Got a Way made me burst into tears...it's always been one of those songs that chokes me up a bit, but today was total waterworks. Luckily, I had sunglasses on to hide my failure of keeping my cool.

Needless to say, I think the overabundance of Billy Joel signs/songs has fried the circuits of my cockamamy system.

I've experienced deja vu so frequently lately too. I think the universe and Billy Joel are trying to tell me something, but there's too much static. Anyone got an antenna?

Friday Five

1. When is the last time you dressed inappropriately for a situation?
Probably every day. I'm a terrible dresser.

2. How many friends do you have?
I don't know.

3. Are you running on time today?
Nope. Woke up with a sore throat and I'm runnin' a little slow. Choked back some Airborne, so hopefully I'll be up-to-snuff here pretty soon.

4. Do you use bleach on your laundry?
Nope.

5. What are your thoughts on guns?
They look like they're good for shootin',

Friday Five

1) This is the 1st of September, what do you want to accomplish by the 31st?
Keep up the working out, maybe lose a little weight, figure out what I'm going to be for Halloween, Beer Fest!, clean out at least one more closet, haircut.

2) What does September make you think about or feel?
Autumn!! I love the fall because it was always so beautiful growing up back east. It conjures up the smell of wood-burning fires, Halloween, colorful leaves and sweaters.

3) September is the ninth month; can you name nine memories so far from this year?
1. Going on vacation for the first time in 6 years.
2. Going on vacation a second time.
3. Hearing Howard again, thanks to getting Sirius.
4. Getting- and subsequently loving- DVR!!
5. Insomnia and Plantar Faciitis
6. Having Cheez Doodles, Dunkin Donuts and East Coast pizza.
7. Re-discovering sea breezes.
8. Fun, lazy weekends with Griffin.
9. Playing with and lounging with my puppies.

4) What does September have in common with three other months and can you name them?
I don't understand this question.

5) The first weekend in September signals the end of summer for many even though it doesn’t really end for weeks. When does summer end for you?
Summer is officially over when you can't wear shorts anymore, and I have to wear socks to bed, because it's just too damn cold. Usually mid-October.
