Happenstance

I randomly decided to self-clean the oven tonight and my house smells like burnt ass-hair. I was recently informed that you're really only supposed to self-clean on nice days when you can open the windows. So, if I'm loopy tomorrow, we'll know why. What? Oh yeah, I'm loopy every day. Well, tomorrow I'll have an excuse for once. :-)

Saw that Broken Lizard is filming their next movie. Psyched. Looks like it's about waiters and waitresses. Those guys are funny - I'm fully looking forward to another one of their ventures. Here's the description from their site:

"For those who don't know, it's called "The Slammin' Salmon." We play waiters in a high-end seafood restaurant owned by a crazy former Heavyweight Champ named Cleon Salmon. (And played by Big Michael Clarke Duncan). The Champ needs to raise money to pay off his debts to the Yakuza so he institutes a Glengary GlenRoss type contest amongst the waiters. Top selling waiter gets 10 grand, lowest selling waiter gets the shit kicked out of him by Michael Clarke Duncan. Gonna have lots of laughs and some great cameos."

I'm sick sick sick of music right now. If I hear that freakin' Bubbly song one more time or any of that Grey's Anatomy* background drivel, I might contract a permanent aversion to Top 40 crap. Please, dear god, does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe Lenny and Jack will pleasantly surprise next Tuesday?

Also starting to think about getting a new car. I wouldn't say I'm super-serious or committed to it yet, but I'm really close. Any suggestions? Something simple, possibly hybrid. Easy to drive. Kinda spunky and fun.

And irony of ironies...after working for a particular company for a combined total of almost 8 years, I never made it out to its "mothership." But, my new job is sending me there in March for a conference. The world likes to shake it up once in a while. Mostly the world likes to shake me. Hard. Can you hear my brain rattling?

I'm ready for it to not be winter anymore. I'm ready for pizza to be calorie-free. I'm ready for people to be nice back.

I'm ready for change all around. But I'm totally okay if we start with my thighs.

(*Don't get me wrong I'm still a Grey's fan -- it's just the cookie-cutter emotey girly puke that they play in the background is just soooooo done.)
